I had a Canon A95, which I loved and which was recently lost. That particular camera doesn't seem to be available anymore. Does anyone know what the current version of that camera is?

There was no direct replacement model for the Canon A-95. Instead there are today multiple cameras. Thus, you face the chore of selecting a camera that is best for your use. If you do not need more than 4X optical zoom, I would suggest the Canon A-570IS, If you desire more zoom, look at the new A-720IS that has IS and 6X optical zoom. The A-720IS will be slightly smaller in physical size than your A-95. However, because the A-720IS uses just 2 AA size batteries, it has a somewhat slower flash recycle time. If flash recycle time is a concern to you look at the A-650IS which has IS, 6X optical zoom, and uses 4 AA sized batteries.
