My brother has the Canon A620 which has stopped writing pictures to the memory card or displaying the picture that has just taken on the rear screen. It does display all the information about the picture also a histogram of the picture. This data is saved to the card but not the picture itself. Other pictures on the card taken before the error displays on the screen correctly. If the card is put into a card reader connected to a computer and the picture opened up no picture is displayed but all the relevent information and histogram is shown as it does on the camera.

Has anyone heard of this sort of problem before or has any idea of what might be wrong.

As the camera is out of warentee and isn't worth sending in for repair I was thinking about disassembling the camera to check inside to see if there is any obvious fault. Does anybody know of a website which has instructions of this procedure.
