The start-up image and photos taken prior to the problem display just fine.

Just the other day the camera stopped being able to display properly on the LCD, only images previously taken or the start-up image will display correctly. However, if there's a bright light, the LCD will display mostly black with horizontal white bars, not clean and crisp, but blurred and jagged.

If I take pictures, the image will in fact be horizontal bars, but not exactly as it was on the LCD.

All other functions seem to be working. Photos taken without the LCD display are also distorted horizontal bars. In other words, everything works but the camera isn't taking photos as it should. There are no discernable objects on the shots, just jagged horizontal shapes.

I'm sure I can send it to Canon, but wondered if it could be fixed by me. It doesn't seem worth it to spend money on this particular model to fix it, but I am willing to try any suggestions.

I've attached an image.
