I'm extremely disappointed of the canon's Powershoot IS cameras. After the breaking of my first one S1 IS, now my desk contains two of them with a dead image sensor. The first one is completely black while the image from the second one looks like a waterfall. The problem become worst when my friend's one S3 IS experienced the same defect. This problem is big since I have recommended this camera to him and now he is angry of me. The guys from the authorized service said "they cannot be repaired".
Now I'm looking to buy something new (preferably not from cannon).
Does anybody have a bad experience with the new models?

Head for the Canon Warranty Repair Station and let them evaluate the situation.
