Hi all:

Two days ago, my S1 IS developed the infamous CCD wiring defect. I am in Grand Cayman and it was hot and humid and now my camera doesn't work. I bought the camera in the US but when I emailed US customer service they suggested I contact the UK customer service. I contacted the UK customer service via the email on the canon europe website but got a response back saying that they can't deal with that issue via that route and that I have to call them! There is no way I am spending $$ on overseas call + whatever fee canon charges for their live help (especially given it's not my fault the camera's got a defect!)

Anyway, back to the point: has anyone successfully dealt with canon repairs from the Carribbean OR does anyone have an email address of an actual person at Canon UK that can help answer my questions?

Thanks so much!!
