I have had this camera since January and took maybe 100 pictures. Apparently during a small piece of felt lodged itself in the viewfinder. I took it to a local camera sales and service shop and they cleaned the places they could get to and then informed me it was in the viewfinder. Good news is the camera can't 'see' it, but I can. Bad news is only Canon can take apart that section of the camera. I guess I will wait until I've had the camera 9-10 months before I send it in to Canon and lose it for a few weeks.

This is not uncommon to have something in your viewfinder in any make of dSLR camera or even film cameras. I am not familiar with your make as I shoot Pentax that has a removeable viewfinder screen. It is a bit bothersome at first but it does not affect the quality of your shot all else being even.

Take Care,
