I've just about decided that I'll be using an A650 as my "sportsmans" camera next season since it is the best camera that fits two absolute requirements, viewfinder, and small enough to fit in a large shirt pocket.

Videos are as important as stills to me and Canon has it down pretty well, I think. I use an A710 and a TX1 presently and get great results. How are the videos from the A650? Have you ever tried the digital zoom during video?

The A650 videos should be as that of the A710. Frankly, the video quality of all powershots of the last years is very similar. With the CHDK hack you have even more control over the video quality A650.
You may also make a look at the video in Steve's review of the A650.
