SX10 - (without HD, only 640x480) is 1/3 cheaper then SX1
SX1 - CMOS sensor 1/2.3" (3x as fast as CCD) - 0.40" EVF 16:9,148.000 pixels, display 2.8" 230.000 pixels SX10 - CCD sensor 1/2.3" - 0.44" EVF 4:3, 235.000 pixels, display 2.5" 230.000 pixles EVF pixel density of both camerasis ~ the same. Of course G1's EVF is lonely peak :-) SX1 isfirst camera which has 16:9 EVF - I think there was no big selection for such EVFs. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- SuperMacro ![]() pinhead (diameter 3mm) touches frontlens ! ![]() |

an external micro on an (expensive) camera which has no movable display and isn't simple to hold like a $-99-camcorder ... then you need a $-2500-Redrock thing ... and you look like a disabled in a wheelchair

this picture is original, not shrinked- 640x480, made with SX1 with 80x safety zoom - that means: optical, not digital.
horse head is ~ 4 cm, camera distance (on tripod) is ~ 4.5 meters. lights: 1x 60W-bulb / 1x small 20W spot light ![]() ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1600x1200 - 46x optical zoom (4:3) ![]() 2272x1704 - 28x opt. zoom (4:3) ![]() 1920x1080 - 40x opt. zoom (16:9) ![]() |

Thanks for posting those great pictures. I'm especially interested in the safety zoom feature since I'm assuming it's the same in the SX10,.....at least I hope it is. Your safety zoom shots are amazing.
I'm going to go look at my SX10 manual and see if I can figure out how to do that! Jack |
