Default A80 How many zoom stops?

Just bought the A80 and can't get to more than 5 stops between WA and TF. Steve's review says there are 7 stops. Which is it?

Hi, I've had my A80 a few hours. Steve is right - however the full 7 stops includes digital zoom - and you've got yours turned off in the setup menu!

How do you like the flashing and banging around on the lcd when the camera is doing things? When I first got mine I also reached for the lcd brightness adjust - but there isn't one? Also I found they link the lcd display brightness to the exposure. So in manual mode, 1/2 press the shutter and if exposure's not up to it in low light, you get a black screen! Also I notice the very rapid drop in sensitivity with zoom. This is my first cheaper cam, so perhaps they all do this.

However, the first useful thing I did was to reverse the display image in the menu. That means you can use it glass outwards, then turn it over for storage - saves on lcd protectors! VOX
