Canon PowerShot a 75 - HELP!

I have connected camera to computer but nothing happens (i.e. pictures will not transfer to computer as usual). Unfortunately I have misplaced any booklets/disk that came with camera. Can anyone help me please? I desperately need to get the pictures on my camera transferred to computer. Thanks!

I don't know how old your computer is but, if it's relatively new, you can just remove the SD card from the camera, insert it into the SD slot on your computer and you'll be good to go. If you have an older computer without card reading capabilities, you can purchase a card reader from just about anywhere that will allow you to download your photos from the card. Have you tried rebooting your computer? Sometimes that helps.
