Is there any advantage to the SD980IS over the SX200IS, besides size?

It appears from the specs that the SX200 has a better zoom, plus aperture and shutter priority, but is slightly thicker. The street price is about the same for these cameras.

Am I missing anything besides size that would give the SD980 an advantage over the SX200?

Your analysis is right on the mark. Personally, I would get more use out of the zoom, but if you are into landscapes the 24mm position on the SD-980 might come in handy. So it is sort of a trade-off. You know what you need most.
