Default Canon SX210 IS Packaging Question

Hi, I bought my Mom a Canon PowerShot SX210 IS camera that is supposed to be New In Box. It came packaged in the manufacturer's box, no outer clear plastic wrapping. The Camera itself came in a white protective bag. Thing is, the Camera had no peel off plastic wrapping protecting the LCD or any other part of the camera. There were fingerprints all over the LCD. So, new buyers of this camera, did your LCDs come with any protection?

I bought mine at Costco, and it was not shrink wrapped. Neither were other Canon cameras I bought. But, finger prints are another issue. When you start up a new camera, it should ask you to set date, time, etc. If it doesn't', someone else has probably tried it. Also, check to see if there are any recorded images. Any doubt, return it.
Good luck,

Most of the Canons I have seen do not come shrink wrapped. I bought mine at a small local camera store, and it had some fingerprints, but I knew it would -they charged up the battery for me and put it in, so I could start taking pictures as soon as I walked out of the store. I didn't see anything on the LCD of the one I bought, nor on the two models they had out in the store, and there wasn't anything in the box. I would think they would have left it on, or at least left it in the box, if it was there.

Yah, shrink wrapped, that's the term I was going for. Thanks.

It sounds like the camera is new, as I had to set the time and
date. Only 2010 was filled in, and I think that is standard. It looked
that way, anyway. The LCD seems okay. Took a couple pics today,
and they came out good. Mom really loves the camera and so
do I.

So far, it seems to blow away my old 5 megapixel Canon camera.
I really like the big LCD screen, small body size, 14X Zoom, the
shooting modes, the availability of colors other than black or silver.
