Default Sx 20

I bought a brand new SX 20, no shrink wrapping, whatever I have also seen of Cannon comes without this.

Love the batteries, can get them off the shelf from anywhere. Great zoom and low light pictures.

A few concerns, pictures are soft, not sharp compared to my earlier Sony H1. Anyone have felt the same?

The flash does not automatically pop us like in the Sony it used to, I have to manually flip it up, or am I missing something?

Thanks for your inputs in advance,

Yes, the Canon SX-20 is a bit different than the Sony H-1:

(1) The flash was be deployed by pressing a button.
(2) Canon now longer ships shrink wrapped cameras.
(3) Yes, the SX-20 with its 20X optical zoom does produce photos that are a little soft, but they respond nicely to sharpening in photo editing, and can be sharpened in the camera as well.
