Default S20 PURPLE TINT.

Does anyone know of any firmware upgrade for a Canon S20 to stop the purple tinting of outside pictures I often get with the camera?

I used to own one of these cameras. I've just replaced it with an S400.
Are you referring to the off-color tint in outside pics .. sort of a mauvish hue. Sky colors not true .. snow would look bluey-purple.
If so, mine had that issue from new .. I had to alter every picture taken in an editing program. I researched this and found it was a design issue (most people complained about it). Anyway, I took it to my local Canon repair centre here in Calgary .. they agreed there was an issue, and ordered a part from Japan. When I got it back the problem had gone away. Luckily this was repaired under warranty. I don't think this camera is user programable. Hope that helps.

I had this problem too. I stuck with Canon andmoved onto an Ixus 500 and 350D, but would like to know if anyone ever sorted the problem out as I still have my S20 with the purple tint.
