Default Canon A80 vs. S45 vs. Nikon Coolpix 4300

We are trying to choose between these three cameras. Just bought the Nikon and not very happy with picture quality in automatic mode, need to try manual. Does anyone have any experience with them and can tell us their preferences and why?

This is just what i think!. The nikon will give the best macro work over all of them(nikon is king of macro) The A80/s45 will give you a better set up for manual work over the nikon.Tealblue

I have a Powershot S40 and love it. (It's almost just like the S45). If you manually set the white balance it helps a lot though, especially with tungsten lighting. I'm into photography now, and it gives me lots of control that I need. I use exposure compensation, different metering modes, exposure bracketing, manual white balance settings, aperture and shutter speed settings, and RAW mode a lot. I've made a few 8x10s that are beautiful.
