Default Cannon S5 is...cleaning internals?

I took my S5 is out to the sand dunes last weekend, and even thought I though I was doing a great job of protecting it from the dust and dirt, it sounds like some got into the camera. When I run the zoom on the lens in and out, it sounds very gritty and notchy. Is there any way to take the camera apart, and clean the motor/gears that drive the zoom?

Any info would be great!
