Default Choice: Pentax Optio S4 or Canon SD-10 ?

I like them both but leaning to the Canon. I'd appreciate knowing any of your experiences about either of these - I would especially like to hear about any negative user experiences as all reviews I've seen are glowing about both. Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond. - W

Mate I bought the SD10 about two weeks ago and it has exceeded all of my (very high) expectations. I was going to get the S4 but for me I felt the Canon had a better build quality. Alot of people have said the s4 is very hard to navigate around, quite fiddly. I can tell you the sd10 is easy to use thanks to a large thumb pad and clever planning.

Probably the biggest plus for me is the fact that you can get an underwater housing for the Canon. It is fantastic. You can take it up to 3 metres underwater. Its also good for rainy days, the beach of the snow. Its AWESOME.

The SD10 also has a remarkable macro function, something the s4 lacks.

The only thing the Canon lacks is the optical zoom, but the digi zoom is surprisingly clear. If you test one out make sure you take a shot with it before you check it out.
