Default Is there an upcoming successor for the Canon PowerShot SX130 IS?

Hello everyone

I am considering whether to buy the SX130 IS. However, I was at a camera store a few weeks ago, and I was told that a new "successor" for this camera will be available in the near future, and that it's worth waiting a bit and buy it rather than the current model.

I have not been able to find any mention about it on Google whatsoever.

Does anybody here know anything about this? Or should I still buy the SX130 IS (that meets my needs of a compact, superzoom camera)?

There has not been any word on the street at all about a Canon SX130 successor. The SX130 has only been on the market for about six months. The replacement cycle for the canon SX1XX series has been every 15 to 18 months, so you could very well be waiting for a good long time.

I would go ahead and purchase the SX130 and enjoy it, especially with Summer just around the corner. Be sure to us Eneloop batteries with the SX130, as that will sped up your shot to shot times when using the built-in flash unit.
