Default A80 as webcam?

I wonder if anyone's hooked up their A80 to the computer (and AC adapter) and used the movie function as a webcam?

Is it even possible?

I'm not really into web-camming, but this is my understanding:

Yes. However, Canon makes no software to allow you to do so. You can get proprietary software (which allows any still image/video camera to be used as a webcam), which may even be a free download, but it will take the information from your video card, not your USB. So you'll have to put the A/V cable into your camera, and put the RCA A/V outputs into the back of your video card (if you don't have RCA inputs, this is a mute point anyhow!).

I have to advise you NOT TO DO THIS, though. Your Canon A80 is a point-and-shoot camera. It wasn't intended for constant operation, and you'll wear down the little gears and stuff inside the camera using it like that (the gears that control the focus and lens extraction are tiny and don't weather wear and tear well).
