Default canon a80 vs s400

could anyone help me decide on which to get. From what i have read they are virtually the same camera, one has aa battaries and one has a lithium, but what else sets them apart. i read somewhere that the a80 has night vision mode where as the s400 doesn't. if any can help it would be much appriciated

S400 is a lot smaller (pocket size). The A80 has a lot more manual control, a swivel LCD and is larger.

S400 if you want point and shoot pocket size camera. A80 if you like manual settings and a little bigger is OK.

Yeah... it really depends what kind of photograph you are.

I chose the s400 because I'm more the "point and shoot" photographer. I won't mess with the manual settings that much.

The s400 has some basic manual settings, but not that much.

If you want more manual settings, choose the a80.

in automatic mode, the s400 and a80 = similar according to the reviews I've read.

I'd suggest to clearly evaluate your needs before choosing.
