Canon Powershot ELPH 300 vs 310

Hey guys,

in the review for the 300, Steve wrote about "1080p HD video recording with digital stabilization". I just ran some tests with the 300 and indeed found the stabilization to be really annoying. It looks like shooting through a glass having water running over it.

In the review for the 310, Steve wrote about "a new 8x optical zoom lens with true optical image stabilization". Does that impact 1080p HD video recording (e.g. is the video stabilized optically rather than digitally) ? Did the 300 not include "true" image stabilization ?
