Default S400 - Tips on reducing red eye

I mainly use my camera indoors (clubs/bars/house). Now even when I have red-eye reduction on, I still get red eyes. Is there any tips on getting images with NO red eye or limited?

Any help on this would be appreciated.

The only thing I found that helps is get as close to the subject as possible and dont use the zoom. This is not always possible especially if it is a group shot. This also causes an overexposed subject with a darker background. Farther away disperses the flash. Either way, you have to do post processing work to fix things up.

It's a tough subject with no easy answer. Every compact cam I tried had this issue. I really like my S400 for its compact size and good quality shots, but I will be getting a 2nd camera for indoor flash use. It will have a hot shoe and a dedicated flash that I can bounce.
