Default canoon a590 adapter question

P { margin-bottom: 0.08in; } Hi I need somebody's help here please. I have a Canon A590 (lens 52mm). I'm considering purchase of a lens hood and/or a polarising filter. My question....do I also need an adapter tube for either or both of these items? Obliged.

(just for background, this is supposed to be point-and-shoot but anything resembling bright skies is over-exposed)

Your lens is nowhere near 52mm. The 52mm is probably the threading at the body for the lens barrel adapter.

I doubt if the retracting lens has filter threads.

If you want to use both a CPL and a lens hood, you're better off getting the adapter, but I don't think that's necessarily going to cure your problem.
