Default Is there a way to imprint date in the image with A80?

This may be a stupd question but it seems quite annoying to me that I cannot find a way to do it. Of course, if I print the pictiures myself I can add the date, and I can always manually edit the file to add text but I want it to be automatic so that I can have the pictures printed somewhere else without worring about the dates.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

No, not directly on the picture with any camera controls, but the image info file is always available to view on the computer. I really like digital for that- it makes it easy to date the picture on the back.

You CAN do this if you have one of Canon's latest inkjet printers. My i960 gives you the option to imprint the date on any picture I want in the lower right-hand corner. I've done it once or twice just to see how it works, and it does work very well. For the most part though I don't want the date in the picture field.
