Is the s410 suppose to get warm at where you hold the camera? I just got the camera and it gets noticeably warm at where I grip it. I know thats where the battery is, but is this normal?

See attach picture if you dont know what im talking about.

From my experience, yes, after you shoot for a while it will get warm. My Canon G5 does & so does my girlfriends S400 Digital Elph. Seems to just be a part of shooting with these smaller cameras.

It happens on a lot of cameras actually- I had a Minolta that was pretty bad. The really bad thing is if the heat bleeds over into the sensor it can actually increase noise (from what I observed and have heard other people mention on forums- no scientific proof of that).

It is perfectly natural for a digicam to get warm when operating. You only need worry if it gets too hot to hold
