I've been reading some distressing stuff about the Canon A75 and like models in getting SHARP, CLEAR pictures. I'm a point and shoot type of person and don't want to fuss and fidget with settings. That said, which camera do you believe is easier to use for a complete novice and still get sharp, clear pictures of still, maybe slightly moving, objects? (like your kids playing, dogs wrestling, nothing FAST)?

I always have used full auto mode and love a zoom but, other than that, prefer to just point and shoot. I'm looking at these two for the sharpness and quality of pics per the reviews

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have purchased the A75 and I think depending on what you are shooting can be the perfect camera or an unacceptable one. I am satisfied for my needs, but I don't know anything about the sony so I can't compare for you. Under ideal lighting, outside for example, I find the pics just fine, one problem, but I suspect the sony could have it, is indoors with flash, the background is darker than the foreground. Technically, this makes sense, but each camera will have a diffeent degree of it. My old 1 megapixel took surprisingly balanced pictures with flash, but I needed better than a 1 mp
