Just thought I would call attention to this cool feature. It was one of the reasons I bought the S1 IS. Haven't seen much written on it and the guy at the camera store told me it wouldn't do it.

Set the camera in a safe place and it will snap shots at intervals of 1 to 60 minutes (for up to 100 pictures). I recently bought a tabletop tripod and placed it on my friend's refridgerator duringhis surprise party. Results were awesome as it took a shot every 4 minutes. You can definitely see the 'time lapse' effect as the sun went down. Was also interesting to see people in swarms as new food was put out.

Orhook it up to your PC with the included software and it takes a shot from 5 seconds or so to ?? (an hour?). Haven't done anything substantial with it hooked up this way.

Just make sure you've got the battery juice if you're taking pictures for any length of time. They make an AC adaptor for the S1 but I haven't justified getting it yet. The battery life is pretty amazing (IMO).

Can't wait to use it on my next house project. I would have loved to see the progress when we tore my floor out to put in Pergo. Thinking about setting it up for when I cut the lawn next.
