The new Canon A85 is a 4mega pixel version of the A75, replacement for the A80 is to be the 5MP A95. How I know this an advertiser in a major digital camera magazine advertised for sale both the A85 and 95 and showed pictures and the fact the A85 was 4MP and the A95 5MP presumably the 95 will be the replacement of the A80. Everyone seems to be waiting for. There was no mentioned of flip out screen or any other technical details just the two photos of the A85 and 95. They both look very similar, i.e. the slightly modified body and designed very similar to A75. When I rang the advertiser asking for details of theA85 priced at £249 and 95 at £319, he was embarrassed to tell me the advert was premature and would not discuss it at all. It seems he jumped the gun. As this was five weeks ago well before the A85 release you can be pretty certain what was advertised with photos of these two new models, the 95 is soon on its way. Hope this is helpful to those who are waiting for the A80 replacement. Lets hope they increase the screen size and its poor resolution. The thing that is the biggest drawback when considering buying the otherwise great A80 and the reason I did not buy one but maybe this 95 or is anyone any suggestion about maybe other Canon models they would recommend.
