Hi. To the owners of new a85/95: do those scene selections (snow/beach/firewords etc.) really make a difference? Have you guys tried it? Is it a nice feature to have or pure marketing BS?

Thank you!

This is a pretty late answer, but if you are still interested, I think the different settings work pretty well. I took 12 shots of my living room, using the various settings and the "INDOOR" setting was certainly the best of the lot. Can't say much for the underwater, because I can't do that. The "NIGHT SCENE" definitely needs a tripod. The shutter is open way to long to be hand-held. Using a tripod, I got some super star pictures.Took 2 snaps of my wife and "PORTRAIT" came out better than "LANDSCAPE"
All-in-all, I think they work very well.
It would be good to get some more opinions though. Hopefully, someone will give us an input.
