I swear, man. I'm soooo pissed about losing my S30. That was an awesome camera, turns out. Quality way better than S1.

if you get a z15 now, s2 will surely come out in Feb. If you don't get the z15, then s2 will NOT come out until you DO get it. Then it'll come out.
That's how it works, mate. |

I got an FZ20 over a month ago, and it's a great camera. I am just a beginner but I had a Canon S1 and returned it. I also had a Canon A85 and returned it, as well as a Sony CiberShot W1.
I was ready to give up on digital cameras all together. When I was returning the A85 they had just gotten the FZ20's in and they where not even on display yet. I was hesitant because it was a lot more money, but I decided to give it a try. I don't think there is a big zoom out there that can touch it. Here is a sample of a hand held shot at close to if not full optical zoom that I took the other day... |

Can anyone be sure that the S2 will come out before summer, i'm sure it will, but I'm still scared that it may not be announced in Feb, like many hope. I need to get a digital camera before July and am hoping that the S2 will for sure be out by then, do you guys think it will?

If with a Canon S2 comes out, the Z20 still might be the better way to go.

yea, well you can't say that. This depends on what S2 offers...

I guess I am rather disappointed with Canon at this point that I really wouldn't trust another one of their cameras. The G3 was a great product, but the S1 IS was definitely a step back. Canon knew better than to rush a product to market without having it better tested and not having a AF illuminator is unacceptable in today's market.

true, true.. I've had an S30 for years and was very, very happy with it until I lost it. I now have S1 as a replacement and I'm NOT terribly impressed. It's ok.
But I wouldn't get a Z20, I'd get a z15 instead. |
