I have heard from different people who have tried taking pictures at night with the S500 and said that it is not as clear and sharp as the SD300, does anyone know of a website that shows pics at night time for these two cameras or any reviews they might have read?

it depends on some of the settings on the camera. i have had both and found if the Auto ISO mode set my ISO to 200 or 400 the pictures turned out course on both cameras.

the S500 has a larger CCD so it should have less of a problem.

For the SD300:

For the S500:

Scroll down about 7/8ths the way down the page for the night shot sections (long exposures).

Keep ISO as low as possible with flash to keep noise down in non-long-exposure shots, of course
