here's a closeup of the light on a VCR remote control - remote is a Sony VTR/TV RMT-V102C (in case it's possible to find out data on output of the IR emitter)
Camera lens was touching remote control, manually focused as close as possible and exposure was 1/125s at F/8.0 and ISO 50.

What could I use for a filter to block visible light but let through IR light? Also what could I use for an IR light so that with a typical indoor setting, I could get a 1/250" shutter speed at ISO 50 and F/4.0? What would my results be if I put an IR filter on my 4-D-cell Maglite?
