How can i take pictures of sunsets with the a95? Usually i get this glare or a white line going down the lense. Any input would be appreciated.

That glare I'm not 100% sure of what you're talking about but but if we're talking about the same thing I've noticed that too... but in the photo taken result never appears. So I'm not disturbed by this.

The first advice is to wait until the intensity of the light decreases.
You could experiment with diffrent light metering like spot or center weight light metering... assuming that you use now evaluative mode.
Another tip is to use when shooting sun set's. Use fluorescent WB to emphasize the warm effect of the setting sun.
