Default G3-Corrupted File(s)

I have a G3 camera and notice that I am getting corrupted files on several of the pictures following:
1) the deletion of a photo (by using the camera) (and/or)
2) the removal of the CF memory card and reinstalling it
This has caused me to lose several pictures. Is it okay to remove and reinstall the memory card? Why would deleting a photo cause this problem? What should I look for/avoid? Overall what causes corrupted files? The memory card is a compactflash card from Crucial. I have had excellent results using Crucial memory for pcs. I was hoping for the same results on the CF card
Thanks! ...... Clay
