I was put off from buying an A75, A80,or A85 type Powershot camera because of the E18 glitch. I was wondering if Canon got it right in the newer A series Powershots, or if history is repeating itself again?

I believe the E18 error is the lens error...right?

So far I've had my camera for about 2 months and have taken definitely at least 200+ pics and no issues or any E18 errors.

Previous to this camera I had the Canon A40 and I had that camera for 4 years and not once did I ever get an E18 error.

I think the E18 error mainly happens with you disturb the lens while it's moving. If you are careful and don't bump it or hit the lens while it's moving, I'd say you're pretty safe.
