Default Canon A40 or Canon S330

I have been researching digital cameras online as I wanted to get myself one for dual purpose. One is to send photos to my family and friends back home and second to double up as a tool to shoot locations for production search (recee) during my film & tv course.

I have narrowed down to A40 and S330 but can not make a choice between them. A 40 is cheaper and has good features while S330 is costing me about S(Singapore)$ 200 more than A40 -which is a lot as I am only a student. Someone please help me out with my dilemma. I intend to keep the digital camera on me all the time.

I am leaning towards A40 and wanted to know if there are any known issues and about the quality. Many review websites like cnet.com/steve-digicams.com/imaging-resource.com/dcresource.com/www.megapixel.net etc.... rate both of them as value for money in their respective category - which only leaves me more confused. Please help me make up my mind.

Waiting to hear from you all.
