Hi all

One of the reasons I bought the S2 IS was the claim that the zoom was virtually silent while recording movies.

When I received my S2 IS and started playing around with the movie mode I found that while I actually zoom, it is virtually silent -but when the zoom stops, there is a loud "clunk" noise picked up by the microphones. So, when the zoom motor is actually moving, I cant hear anything -but when I stop zooming, there is an audible "click"/"clunk" noise.

Just wondering if anyone else has this problem or I just got a faulty camera?

Any info would be appreciated.

it's on all s2's. It doesn't bother me too much. I also get some minor electrical noises in some of the recordings.

If you dont like it, try not using the zoom.
