Hmm...I haven't had any troubles with my S2. Take pictures of kids running around (soccer). Took pictures through a glass window of people in the street, even when zoomed in.

Only time I have focus problems is when I try to zoom in real far to something real close. I think that's normal.

On occasion, I will get a focus mis when I'm trying to focus on some kid in the distance and others are running in front of them (closer).

Thanks for the link though, I bookmarked it for my own use just in case

My experience echos swgod98's. No real problems. So perhaps your camera has a problem, or maybe you'r doing something like:accidentally engaging the focus lock is some way (either by a half press of the shutter and also possibly accidentally pressing the MF button); or accidentally moving the AF frame (set button followed by the arrow keys).
