Hi,Still looking for Christmas gift.My husband has the pro 90 IS.Would this camera be an upgrade or not?Are there threads for a polarizer? He loves a zoom and doesn't want multiple lenses.Any suggestions for other cameras would be great.I appreciate the previous responses.LKO

The S2 IS doesn't have any provisions to add filters 'out of the box', but you can purchase an optional Canon lens adapter, which will allow you to add a filter or any of Canon's converters for the S2 (such as a telephoto converter or a wide-angle converter). In addition to the Canon lens adapter, there are other 'after market' adapters available, such as one by LensMate. From my experience, the LensMate adapter works very well, fits perfectly and is relatively inexpensive.

Good luck!
