OK. I opted for the 610 over the 620.. wanted to save the 100.00 ..

I'm a Mommy.. like to take nice photos.. I can see printing the odd 8x10. I highly doubt I'd go higher than that.. . This is probably a DUMB question.. but will the 5.0mp be sufficient? What's the 'standard' required mp for an 8x10?

For the extra 100 bucks I can buy a new ski jacket.. so if I don't need it I won't bother. And.. if for some reason there's an unfortunate toddler accident with my camera.. I'll be 100 bucks closer to buying a replacement.. LMAO

Yes, it will make beautiful 8x10 prints. 8x10 prints from a file off a camera like that require a small amount of cropping in on the long side since the dimentions of the sensor do not match exactly an 8x10 piece of paper, but a print that size with no resizing (don't worry, right now you probablydon't need to know what that means!) has a resolution of 240 pixels per inch (PPI), which is perfectly good. Once enlargements reach a rating of 180 PPI I start to think about resizing. With a 5 MP camera like the one you have, that size is 11x14.
