Default s230 question regarding ISO setting

I'm a newbie as I recently bought my first digitial camera, an S230.
I was able to make an informed choice regarding my purchase due to the excellent information I found at this site. When I took pictures on my vacation I reviewed each one, deleting those I didn't like. When I uploaded the photos, several are much darker than when viewed on the camera. Am I doing something wrong?

My instruction manual shows that I can change the ISO setting via the menu but my menu doesn't match the booklet exactly and I can't find the ISO option anywhere.

Press "Set"
Select "Manual"
Press "Set" again.

Press "Menu"
Scroll down to "ISO"
Use the Left/Right keys to select the ISO rating AUTO, 50, 100, 200, 400

Have fun!
