Hi Guys

Just bought a new A610 which I am very impressed with. Was out yesterday on a local beach and wanted to shoot some guys riding dirt bikes in the dunes. It was then I realised there was no specific "sport" scene mode in the A610.

Just wondering what would be the best mode to use for that, maybe kids/pets mode?

I know I can set shutter, ISO etc but just wanted something fast to select for those unexpected shots.

Actually I find it a little odd that with all the specialised scene modes they didn't add a "sport" setting... but there ya go, can't have everything eh?

Appreciate any help or suggestions with this.

Turn the mode dial to AV..simplest thing to do.. you can do further adjustments from there.

Usually SPORT means action and when this mode isavailable, all it does is set the shutter speed very high in order to freeze the action. So, my suggestion is not to use Av but Tv. Set the shutter speed to something around 400 or higher and let the camera adjust the aperture accordingly. Be aware that depending on the lighting condition, you might have to increase the ISO to 200 or even 400 as well, which will off course, deteriorate picture quality.
