Default Problems with Canon S50 vs. S45

I recently bought my first digital camera, a Canon S45, without really knowing what to expect from it. I was so blown away by the picture quality that I decided to really “go for the gold”, so I exchanged it for an S50, given that it was only $70 more. Strangely, my test photos taken with the S50 are not as good as those taken with the S45…a bit flat and dull, and some looked a bit washed out. They’re not horrible…just definitely not as good. Anyone have any insight into this? Did I just get a lemon, or is there something about the S50 vs. the S45 that would cause this? It doesn’t make sense. Thanks.
