Default Canon G-3... ? Best Compact Flash Card for Recycle Speed ?

Does anyone know what brand and/or type of compact flash card will enable optimum recycle times between shots? I am considering a 256mb or a 512mb.

I understand that Lexar offers various speeds, x-12, x-40 etc. and also SanDisk offers the Ultra which has a data transfer rate of 2.8mb/sec.

I have no idea what the Canon G-3 is capable to write at?

Any first hand information, or comments.

Thank You

I just received my G3 today. So excited! I did a lot of research beforehand. I talk to a Lexar technical assitant before, he told me G3 max. speed is 24X. Anything higher than that is useless.
So I bought the Sandisk Ultra 512Mb for the price and speed. I haven't received that CF card yet. But I will let you know, probably next few days, when I test it.

I am also considering getting the Viking256Mb, since they have rebate now. The price is very attractive.

I notice there is some minor noise (from the spring inside) when I turn the zoom dial. Do u have that noise? Is it because it is new?
