I'm trying to pick between the two. The S3 IS offers one extra MP, 800 ISO resolution, 2.0" LCD (1.8" on S2 IS), closer macro distance, but at an expense of 40% higher price.

Is it worth it?

IMHO, the S2 is a better camera. Less noise from what I can tell from review pictures.

If I was to buy again and had the bucks think I'd check out the Sony H5.

My S2 is a wonderfull camera and can do everything I need, when I learn

how to use it better. I rarely use the LCD, sure glad I didn't buy one without

a EVF. I don't get great movies like I saw on the net, have yet to figure

that one out, too many crawling pixels.
