I'll be taking the S2IS into a rain forest for 24 - 48 hours. Are there any special precautions that should be taken or special care for the camera in these conditions? :? I'll be staying in a hotel room that is hopefully air conditioned, but will be out and about in the rain forest during the day.

I like to always carry a large baggie for my camera when the weather looks like rain. An all-weather or marine housing, if you can afford one, would be nice. I think they start around 200 dollars and way up.

One caution. Moving from a cold airconditioned room immediately outside towarm humid air might create a problem with condensation if the camera is cold. I'd suggest placing the camera in the baggie while in the hotel room, and allowing it to warm up outside before taking it out.

After visiting the Iguazu Falls in Argentina/Brasil a few years ago, such an humid area, my Sony camcorder got a lot of corrosion inside and became unusable and without repair.

So, be carefull.
