Default S400 movie mode

I have read that for some reason beyond my knoweldge that Canon has made the S400 have only a 320x200 movie mode, half of the S230. Is there any known reason why?

Anyways, I am going to buy either an S230 or an S400 in the future, but the halved video resolution is troubling...

Basically, I am just wondering if I go out and buy an S400 - will there be a newer version that has this small discrepancy fixed? Is there a planned date for more announcements regarding future cameras?

yes it is true the S400 only does this res, which is half od the S230. Who knows why Canon did this, but this could be due to the utilisation of the new DIGIC processor, which is a single chip that does everything, hence faster startup, better focus, large 4.0MP picture taking ability and imporved battery life.

I find that I take movie snippets are fun, and do not need 640x480 res, as too big. If I want high quality I would get myself a video camera.
