I have a Canon IXUS 40 or a Canon SD300 (I think this is the US equivalent).

Have had this for around 1 year, no problems so far, images are great.

I also bought a 1GB Viking Memory Card from amazon.co.uk (link below)

Now according to the canon website/manual I can record a Standard video until the card runs out, but for some reason it only does 3mins.

Is there a problem with my Camera or is the Memory Card wrong?

Please could anybody give some advice.

yes, canon ixus 40 ( http://www.manualshark.org/p/canon-3...al-ixus-40-527 ) is the equivalent to the canon sd200 ( http://www.manualshark.org/p/canon-3...hot-sd200-525/ ) or sd300 ( http://www.manualshark.org/p/canon-3...hot-sd300-524/ ) . you should check the user guide. here are a lot of canon user guides: http://www.manualshark.org/b/canon-3/
