Dead flash: v7

I recently dropped my v7 and though i remember the flash still working right after, after a few days the flash doesnt come on anymore. The camera however still thinks it flashed, so when on flash mode, the pictures turn out very dark. I tried to look at the flash bulb to see if it seem broken but it doesnt look like it.
anyone know what happened? is my flash broken, bulb, loose wire, dead capacitor?
if it is broken, how much would i cost to fix a broken flash component.

just as an aside can a v7 use a SDHC card.

#1: It could be a loose/damaged board, tube, or other components. It's going to cost a bunch if you send it in for a repair. If you're going to fix it yourself, you'll need a donor unit.
