EX-V7 help please

hello all,
I have a Casio ex-v7 from a while back, and I stopped using it because it kept displaying the error message "Camera stabilizer not available" and wouldnt let me go any farther

furthermore, i have lost the charger, and want to see if i have any hope of reviving this camera or if im just wasting $$ to buy a replacement cradle

I have looked around and some people claim that upgrading the firmware lets you bypass this. can anybody confirm this?
also does anything like CHDK let me get by this error?

A quick google search found some posts from EX-V7 users that claim the v1.03 firmware allows the camera to function, even though the error still appears. So, you may want to give the new firmware a try. You will need a fully charged battery for the update.
